ABOUT YOUR ADVISOR in Lake Bluff & More
Leslie Olesen, RN, MBA
Certified Senior Advisor ®
With over 35 years as a nurse, my life has been devoted to family and patient care. For 30 years of my career, I served as the president and CEO of American Medical Resource Institute, where we presented education programs for nurses and physicians. Prior to that time, I worked with cardiac patients and their families, coaching them into healthier lifestyles and promoting heart-healthy habits. A lifelong resident of the northern suburbs of Chicago and Lake Bluff, I am thrilled to be helping older adults and their families find the perfect home.
I decided to become an Oasis Senior Advisor after coping with the long-term decline and eventual loss of my mother several years ago. Despite my many years in health care and my connections in the health care community, finding the right solution for my mother was a daunting and frustrating task. Unfortunately, most of us do not consider those final steps until we are in the throes of emotional turmoil, dealing with catastrophic illness and loss. Hospitals and physicians are not in a position to take the time to help families find the ideal location for themselves and their loved ones. That is where Oasis Senior Advisors steps in to help you find the best possible housing and care solution.
What I love about Oasis Senior Advisors is the personal approach. I have met with and surveyed every property that I will discuss with you. I will sit down and talk with you and your loved ones to find out what your priorities are, and find the ideal setting for you based on your needs. For me, this is the culmination of my career; being able to sit down and help people when they need it most.

I am a lifelong resident of the northern Chicago suburbs, raised in Deerfield and currently living in Libertyville with my husband and two teenagers. I love being active with my family which includes travel, bike riding, kayaking, and taking long walks in the beautiful forest preserves near us. I am also very active in my church and happily volunteer a lot there.
I’ve spent 30 years in marketing in a big corporate environment. It was satisfying for a long time, and I developed many skill sets, most importantly my ability to connect with people and provide guidance in complex situations. After witnessing the devastating effects of dementia with my father and then providing support and care for my mother as she declined and passed, I realized that working with the elderly in the effort to help improve quality of life was a passion and a calling of mine. I have observed friends and colleagues go through the stress and emotional trauma that one faces when they suddenly find themselves having to be the caregivers and decision makers for their parents. To me, Oasis Senior Advisors provides a win/win scenario for everyone involved by giving support to the ones who most need it, the seniors and their families, without charging for our services.
