ABOUT YOUR ADVISOR in Hockessin
Lynn Paxson, Certified Senior Advisor®
The majority of my life has been spent in Delaware. My husband and I chose to raise our son in Delaware because we wanted him to have a strong sense of family and the opportunity to really know his grandparents. My husband and I enjoy cooking, going for walks, watching movies, playing with our family dog and most of all, spending time with our son.
I spent the last 14 years working for a technology company. I worked in various aspects of the business where I was afforded the opportunity to learn many things. One of the goals I have for the next chapter in my life is to help people. A few years ago I helped my husband and his mother find the community that best fit her needs and personality. The process was challenging, stressful, and time consuming with no one to guide us. I have experienced firsthand how these challenges can impact families. I am now privileged to be able to provide guidance to our seniors and their families.
As an Oasis Senior Living Advisor, I will be allowed the opportunity to help meet a need that is currently lacking in our community. I will work closely with seniors and their families to help maintain the dignity and quality of life that seniors truly deserve. If you or a loved one are in need of guidance or insight to determine the best quality of life options, my mission is to be there, by your side, as a guide and resource during your transition.
Rachel Goorland, Senior Living Advisor
I was born and raised in Wilmington DE where I currently reside. I have been married since 2014 to my partner of 15 years. I have 2 stepchildren and a 2-year-old grandson whom we adore. I worked as a distributor sales representative for 25 years for our family business, Goorland & Mann Janitorial & Sanitary Supplies. My parents were in business for 45 years. Working for them was a blast. My Dad became sick with cancer in 2004, and I was able to help my Mom care for him. My dear sweet Mom passed away in 2017, and I was so privileged to be able to care for her too. I wanted a career change and I was so moved by caring for my folks, I started looking for a job where I could use my skills and experience to help people.
Working at Oasis Senior Advisors is a perfect fit for me. I can use my personal and professional experience to help people. What a great way to earn a living. I listen to seniors and their families, gain an understanding of their needs and design a plan to help them. I love that my job has such a positive impact on families. It also enables me to feel connected to my parents. I am very grateful.
