ABOUT YOUR ADVISORS IN Delaware
Lynn Paxson
Certified Senior Advisor®
The majority of my life has been spent in Delaware. My husband and I chose to raise our son in Delaware because we wanted him to have a strong sense of family and the opportunity to really know his grandparents. My husband and I enjoy cooking, going for walks, watching movies, playing with our family dog and most of all, spending time with our son.
I spent the last 14 years working for a technology company. I worked in various aspects of the business where I was afforded the opportunity to learn many things. One of the goals I have for the next chapter in my life is to help people. A few years ago I helped my husband and his mother find the community that best fit her needs and personality. The process was challenging, stressful, and time consuming with no one to guide us. I have experienced firsthand how these challenges can impact families. I am now privileged to be able to provide guidance to our seniors and their families.
As an Oasis Senior Living Advisor, I will be allowed the opportunity to help meet a need that is currently lacking in our community. I will work closely with seniors and their families to help maintain the dignity and quality of life that seniors truly deserve. If you or a loved one are in need of guidance or insight to determine the best quality of life options, my mission is to be there, by your side, as a guide and resource during your transition.

I am a native Delawarean, so, you could say my roots are firmly planted here. Growing up there were three generations under one roof. I helped my mother care for my grandparents as they aged. In my later years, I cared for my mother. My husband and I live in my childhood home with my father. We enjoy going for motorcycle rides, boating, fishing, caring for our two favorite pups, and spending time with family and friends at our home away from home in Virginia. I spent 30 years working in the banking and technology industries. Many of the roles I held had some aspect of customer service. I have always been one to look for ways to help others. After my corporate roles, I went on to follow my passion for animals and managed a doggy day care and boarding facility. Then our family was given the news that my father-in-law, who had dementia, was no longer safe at home alone. I promptly quit my job, we moved him to our home, and I became his full-time caregiver for 3.5 years. It had its challenges but was rewarding at the same time. Caregiving is not for everyone, and at some point, an extra level of care is necessary. Finding a community or additional resources for a loved one, as I learned firsthand, is a daunting task. You come to find that you have to put your personal wants aside and focus on your loved one. A friend told me that this job and all that it entails was written specifically for me and I couldn’t agree more. As an Oasis Senior Living Advisor, I can take my personal experience and the relationships that I have built in the community, to help other families facing the daunting task of finding the right place for their loved one a little less stressful.

I was born in Delaware, and my family moved to Cecil County, Maryland when I was young. Cecil County is where I grew up, and also where my husband and I raised our two sons. We moved to the Maryland beach area around the time that my husband retired from a career in law enforcement. We enjoy boating, fishing and going to the beach together, and I enjoy reading, baking and exercising. I have spent more than two decades in the healthcare field, most of it as an Admissions and Marketing Director at skilled nursing centers. One of the facets I most enjoyed about this job was assisting and advising families regarding care options for their loved ones. I understand this is a very overwhelming process to navigate. As your Oasis Senior Living Advisor, I am committed to learning and understanding your unique story in order to help you and your family find the best care for your individual needs.
