"Mom's dementia has been getting worse over the last 4 months and she required more cues for bathing , dressing and activities. Living in a regular assisted living environment was proving to be more difficult for mom. My siblings and I had to make a decision on the "Next Step". We definitely needed advice, assistance and support with this important decision. We were fortunate enough to be working with Connie for the last 2 years. Her in-depth knowledge of dementia, senior communities and connections with other experts in the field proved vital in assisting us make the best decision possible. There were many factor to consider moving mom at this stage of her dementia. Connie was there to provide all facets to consider without bias, guilt or judgement. Without her we would have been lost and overcome with guilt during the process. We decided to move mom to Artis Senior Living in Brick. Connie called consistently to see how we and mom were doing. It is still early in the transition but we find comfort in knowing that Connie is there for us and will see us through the process. "Connie was referred to me by a friend whose family worked with her. From the first time I spoke with Connie, she made me feel at ease. My family’s situation, like I am sure many others, was a bit complicated since Dad needed independent living and Mom needed skilled nursing. Connie worked tirelessly to find facilities that, not only fit my parent’s needs, but also their budget. Connie was in constant contact with me until we were able to find a facility that worked for us. Connie’s input during our visit to Dad’s new home, was invaluable. She was able to point out things that I, as a novice, would not have even thought of. Dad loved the facility and has been happily settled in now for a few months. She made sure that before making suggestions of facilities, she knew our family financial situation so as not to recommend something we couldn’t afford. Her advice both before our visit to the facility, during our visit, and since has been priceless. They had done no transition planning of their own and had differing and fairly advanced care needs so many facilities were unsuitable or/and too expensive for them. "My father had a stroke a year ago which left him non-ambulatory. We were told upon leaving rehab that he would require 24-7 care (i.e. a skilled nursing facility). We however brought him home and provided the best care that we could (including skilled homecare), but it soon became obvious that we could not maintain this arrangement over an extended period of time. My brother and I contacted Oasis Senior Advisors and that’s when we met Connie Roberson. Connie came to our house and sat down with us to determine our needs and explain several of the options available to us. While we thought dad would actually need a nursing home type of facility, Connie explained that he should be able to go into an assisted living arrangement with my mother. Throughout the course of this often complicated process, Connie proved to be an invaluable resource; promptly returning phone calls, answering a million questions, setting up and coordinating facility visits, working behind the scenes to obtain more favorable pricing once we found a facility we liked, keeping contact with us throughout the move-in process to ensure everything went smoothly and many other things too numerous to count. And the price for all of her hard work…just the smiles on our faces!!! Connie we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of the hard work and efforts that you put forth helping our family through this trying and emotional process."
