Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients:

1&1/2 cups cooked white rice

2 large cabbage heads

2 medium white chopped onions

8 strips cooked bacon, broken into bits

1 teaspoon paprika

½ lb. ground pork

½ lb. ground beef

1 tsp. sugar

½ tsp. salt

½ tsp. pepper

8 oz can of tomato soup + ¾ can of milk slowly stirred into tomato soup concentrate (like you are making tomato soup)

1 tsp. sugar

Directions:

Cook rice, let cool

Par boil cabbage, let cool

Carefully peel off cabbage leaves being careful not to tear

Cut out center rib of cabbage leaves

Sauté onions, add bacon

Mix everything except soup in a large bowl

Grease a large shallow baking dish, you may need two

In the dish roll contents into cabbage leaves to form roles about 1&1/2 to 2 inches

round, keep rolls tight against each other in baking dish.  

Pour soup over rolls, cover with aluminum foil

Bake at 300 degrees for 1&1/2 hours covered and an extra ½ hour uncovered

Add water if needed, serve hot.
